| Description |
The network focuses on the crustal seismicity associated with the CariƱo Botado and Los Andes faults, in the Pocuro Structural System, located in the Andes Cordillera, Central Chile. This area corresponds to the northern extension of the San Ramon fault system located in the Santiago de Chile area, which has been studied in great details in recent years with the deployment of permanent seismic stations by the National Seismic Center (CSN) of Chile (network C1). This pilot experiment was designed to evaluate the activity of these crustal faults and the feasibility of a larger study in the area. The data have shown a lot of shallow activity in the area, associated with these faults. This pilot network consists of 10 Digos Datacube3 datalogger equipped with 3 component geophones, for a duration of 3 months. |
