FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 5A (2010-2012) Network name Basin & Range, Pleasant Valley Faulting, Crustal-Scale Geometry of Active Continental Normal Faults (B&R Normal Faults)
Start year 2010 Operated by
  • Oregon State University (OSU), United States of America
End year 2012 Deployment region
Description

We plan to deploy a very dense (0.5 to 2 km spaced) array of broad-band seismographs across a crustal-scale Basin and Range normal faults to image their overall geometry. This is a passive experiment using receiver functions for imaging the deep structure of the fault system.
