FDSN code 6H (2015-2017) Network name Darsser Schwelle (DARS)
Start year 2015 Operated by
End year 2017 Deployment region
Description

Two test deployments of different German Ocean-Bottom-Seismometer types next to an oceanographic current profiler.

In 2015, the deployed instruments were two LOBSTER from the German national OBS pool DEPAS, one with a Guralp CMG-40T seismometer (DARS1) and one with a Nanometrics Trillium compact (DARS2). Both instruments were simultaneously deployed for two months.

In 2016, a Trillium-equipped LOBSTER (DARS3) was deployed next to a NAMMU-type OBS (DARS4). The DARS3 instrument was not properly fixed to the anchor and drifted away after a few weeks.
