DATES OF OPERATION: 01 Oct 1980 to 26 Jun 1984

SEISMOMETER TYPE and ADC:
Geotech Model SL-200 series long period three component system, and Geotech Model
S-13 for short period vertical.

DIGITAL FORMAT:
16 bit integer for all components. Range: +32,767 to -32,768 digital counts.

COMMENTS:
The seismograph system at Jamestown is similar to the DWWSN in sensitivity and
format, but uses different seismometers. All data was telemetered to the University
of California at Berkeley where it is recorded. The mid-period data experienced
some problems with telemetry causing occasional spiking. The mine where the system
was located was on private property, and daily operation was done by the son of the
owners. This proved to be an unsatisfactory arrangement.
