COMMENTS:
A description of the IRIS-2 system can be found in USGS Open-File Report 89-471, Peterson et al (1989).
Due to its remote location a limited satellite transmission system has been
arranged whereby long-period data only (1 sps) is transmitted to the Albuquerque
Seismological Laboratory and is received within 24 hours of real time. During
the Antarctic summer, normally October through March, data is received at the
ASL via data recorded during the Antarctic winter (BB, VLP. ULP) will not be
available until the following October.
