DATES OF OPERATION: 12 Dec 1982 to 22 Oct 1986.
SEISMOMETER TYPE:
Geotech Model KS-36000-04 borehole seismometer for all mid period and long
period data. Geotech Model S-750 borehole seismometers were used for SHZ data,
and for SHN and SHE data during the time period 27 Apr 1985 through 22 Oct
1986. Previously, 12 Dec 1982 to 27 Apr 1985, SHN and SHE data were obtained
from the KS-36000-04 seismometer.
DIGITAL FORMAT:
16 bit gain-ranged data words for all components. Range: +1,048,576
to -1,048,448 counts.
EVENT DETECTOR ALGORITHM:
The Murdock event detector (Murdock, 1983) was used for the short-period
and mid-period data.

COMMENTS:
The Regional Seismic Test Network (RSTN) was developed and installed by
Sandia National Laboratories. All data was telemetered via satellite from
the station to the receiving terminal in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Starting
on 12 Dec 1982 the data was reformated and forwarded to the Albuquerque
Seismological Laboratory for inclusion into the Network Day Tapes. After
the stations were closed they were eventually turned over to the Geological
Survey and will become part of the National Network. A description of the
RSTN system can be found in Breding (1983). The RSTN data was event detected
at Sandia National Laboratories during reformating using the detector
described in Murdock (1983).
