Dear Tim and WGIII members,
thanks (Tim) for preparing the minutes and for extending the deadlines,
both for comments and for the participation to the task forces.
We had a lot of interesting and constructive discussions in Prague
within the WGs meetings and we are happy to join the task forces with a
number of ORFEUS/EIDA people involved in related developments. We really
hope that the discussion will continue with the same constructive spirit
in the near future within the newly created task forces.
Although we proposed and we welcome very much the concept of a task
force, at least for the discussion on federating data centers, we are
indeed a bit afraid about having a number of task forces (3) working in
parallel with almost the same people involved. We hope to have still
enough time to actively participate in all the discussion.
From the ORFEUS/EIDA side we would suggest the following people for the
task forces:
Task Force 1: Metadata versioning
L. Trani, A. Heinloo, C. Pequegnat
Task Force 2: Federated Data Centers
J. Quinteros, A. Strollo, L. Trani, P. Volke
Task Force 3: Quality Assurance
R. Sleeman and/or L. Trani (are available to chair this group).
L. Trani, A. Heinloo, M. Grünberg
In attachment you find the WGIII minutes with a few changes/comments
directly in the document in review mode.
Regards,
Angelo (on behalf of ORFEUS/EIDA)

Greetings, you are receiving this email as your address is in the FDSN WGIII mail list.
At yesterday’s meeting in Prague, the need to establish three short term but important task forces was identified. The identified task forces include:
Task Force 1: Metadata versioning – Trabant
Task Force 2: Federated Data Centers – Ahern
Task Force 3: Quality Assurance – TBD
More information about these topics can be found in the minutes you should’ve received earlier today.
If you are interested in joining any of the above task forces please let me know before July 31, 2015. It is intended to only hold virtual meetings and/or conduct business by emails so no travel will be required.
