Description |
The Sandia National Laboratories DAS system installed at Oliktok point, Alaska, consists of 37.6 km long single-mode oceanic cable connected to a Silixa iDAS interrogator. The cable extends offshore into the Beaufort Sea and it is emplaced below the seafloor interface at depths of 2 m up to 16 km, and 4 m beyond. The installation is presented and described in detail in Baker and Abbott (2022) and Stanciu et al (2023). Baker, M.G., Abbott, R.E. (2022). Rapid Refreezing of a Marginal Ice Zone Across a Seafloor Distributed Acoustic Sensor, Geophysical Research Letters, 49, 24, https://doi.org/10.1029/2022GL099880 Stanciu, A.C., Frederick, J.M., Baker, M.G., Abbott, M.G., Conley, E.W., Solomon, E., Jones, K.
