Description |
A network of 209 continuously running, digital seismic stations equipped with short-period sensors (200 stations) and broadband sensors (9 stations) was deployed in an area of ~12 x ~12 km in the Lausitz (East of Germany) for a period of ~5 weeks. The network was part of the EU project VECTOR (https://vectorproject.eu) aiming to investigate – among others – possible solutions for less invasive forms of exploration for mineral resources. In this context, the collected data was mainly used to derive a 3D model of the subsurface (seismic shear wave velocity) using ambient noise tomography. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement nº 101058483. Co-funded by the European Union.
