FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 4S (2019-2020) Network name Active seismic imaging of a leaky CO2 fault system (COTEC-active)
Start year 2019 Operated by
End year 2020 Deployment region -
Description

Seismic reflection/refraction imaging across the Little Grand Wash fault, east-central Utah. This fault actively leaks CO2, and the total fluid pressure has locally reduced the fault’s minimum horizontal effective stress, producing both low- and high-permeability fault segments that either block or promote fluid migration.
