FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 5R (2024-2025) Network name dbMISS
Start year 2024 Operated by
  • Westfalische Wilhelms-Universitat Munster (WWU), Germany
End year 2025 Deployment region -
Description

This temporary seismic network was deployed in northern North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, as part of the dbMISS project (https://www.uni-muenster.de/Physik.GP/dbmiss/project.html) to improve station coverage for attenuation tomography based on earthquake and ambient-noise data. It consists of seven broadband stations equipped with Nanometrics Trillium 120PA sensors and Nanometrics Taurus loggers, recording continuous three-component seismic data. The network provides high-quality waveform data to support the study of seismic attenuation (Q) and improve the spatial resolution of attenuation models in NRW.
