Description

The Alaska Geophysical Network comprises approximately 250 real-time monitoring stations. The network provides comprehensive seismic monitoring for Alaska, and in recent years, a selection of metrological, infrasound, and GNSS monitoring. Paper helicorder records exist from the late 1950s. Select digital data begin in the mid-1980s. Continuous digital records are available from 1996 forward. The center operates under statutory authority of the Alaska legislature, and is the Alaska partner to the Advanced National Seismic System and the National Mesonet Program.
