Description |
5 stations were installed in Chilean Patagonia and 5 stations in the Antarctic Peninsula region. 3 of the Antarctic stations are located at Chilean bases. The goals of the experiment are to determine whether current subduction is occurring at the S. Shetland trench; study the upper mantle structure of the Bransfield Strait backarc region; determine whether anisotropy indicates mantle flow around South America |
