| Description |
On November 9, 2022, at 06:07 UTC, an earthquake of ML 5.7 (Mw 5.5) occurred off the northern coast of Marche, Italy (http://terremoti.ingv.it/it/event/33301831). The earthquake did not cause victims, but a lot of fear among the population: closed schools and numerous controls in the strategic structures of the Region. A few minutes after the earthquake, the SISMIKO operational group, the coordination of the INGV emergency seismic networks, was activated. SISMIKO has prepared and implemented in the following 24 hours, the installation of 8 seismic mobile stations, equipped with short-period velocimeters and accelerometers. All the stations, whose data were transmitted in real time, had been integrated into the INGV seismic monitoring and surveillance system and made available to the scientific community, without any restrictions. |
