Description

The Landslide Monitoring via Distributed Acoustic Sensing (LAMDA) project, launched in late 2022, drilled one hole (100 m) in the scarp area of the Lantai, Ilan landslide in the northeastern Taiwan to monitor the possible movements of the slope via distributed acoustic sensing with inhole fiber. The Lantai landslide is a complex deep-seated landslide with multiple sliding zones identified at ~40 and ~80 m depths. LAMDA is a pioneer project setting up a cross-sliding-zones fiber array with a surface seismic network of 10 stations covering the scarp area to gain high-resolution and deep insight into the dynamics of deep-seated landslides.
