FDSN Network Information

FDSN code ZD (2014-2019) Network name 4D Integrated Study Using Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Modeling & Rock Mechanics to Develop Assessment Models for Potential In (OKRaH)
Start year 2014 Operated by
  • University of Oklahoma (OU), United States of America
End year 2019 Deployment region
Description

The study area will be set in the zone of increased seismicity of central Oklahoma to address scientific questions with respect to the geologic conditions, monitoring and predictive modeling necessary to evaluate potential causes of the increased seismicity. We will build, test and update a causal and self-consistent multivariate and volumetric (3D) geologic interpretation, built using information from existing well and well-log databases, rock-mechanics, rock properties, and seismic imaging. The 3D geologic interpretation will be tested against existing and newly acquired gravity data, as well as ongoing seismic monitoring within the study area. Then the interpretation will be updated to address potential causes of misfit between the observed data and modeled geophysical data.
