Dear FDSN members,

After many months of careful collection and curation of the issues
provided by the community, a review process took place during the last
year. The Review Team submitted a new, and more complete version of the
documentation for the StationXML format (schema v1.2), based on the
originally available. This was reported back to the WG2 and accepted in
April 2022 by the votes of the representatives.

Now, we would like to announce officially that the documentation for the
*StationXML schema 1.2* is available at:

http://docs.fdsn.org/projects/stationxml/en/v1.2/index.html

Thanks a lot to the Review Team (Philip Crotwell, Rob Casey, Petr
Kolinsky, Jonathan Schaeffer) for the incredible work and thanks also to
Rob, who made me realize that there was no official announcement.

We strongly encourage data centers and network operators to plan and
coordinate how and when the new schema will be adopted by each of you.
Check your clients verification process for particular schema versions.
Remember that 1.2 is technically exactly to 1.1, so no problems are
expected.

Best,

--
