FDSN Working Group III

FDSN Working Group III on Coordination of Products, Tools and Services

This group was established at the 2007 FDSN meeting in Perugia Italy.

FDSN WGIII will identify standard products that may be produced by FDSN data centers. It will advocate product uniformity and methods of production for FDSN products. It will advocate development and distribution of standard software tools that will support the production of FDSN products.

The goal of FDSN WGIII is to coordinate the creation of uniform products at participating FDSN data centers. It will also attempt to standardize services and share tools that produce FDSN approved products.

Greetings members of FDSN WG III on Products, Tools, and Services. In preparation for the WG III meeting I am attaching the draft agenda and a few documents. If there are other issues to be discussed they can be considered at the meeting. Time will be short as this meeting is only 90 minutes long. There are three attachments 1) the draft agenda with the all the topics recommended by various parties, and the time and place of our meeting in Kobe This attachment that covers Phillips Crotw… [more]

Dear WG III A small detail I have added to the agenda includes approving the minutes form the last WGIII meeting in Prague. A copy of them is included here for your review, please take time to read through these and be prepared to suggest changes to them as needed, Hopefully this will not take to much of our valuable 90 minutes in Kobe. Dear FDSN WG3, over the last year or so, the FDSN III mailing list has seen a number of comments / suggestions / requests for modifications to each of the FDSN web services. Despite often quite vigorous discussions, there has not yet been a clear path for how version updates are agreed and implemented. I propose we use the (short) time before now and the IASPEI meeting in Kobe in the beginning of August to agree on how we as a community agree on version updates and how they are implemented, a… [more]
