Geology: GAC is located in the central metasedimentary belt terrane of the Grenville Province.
Vault Conditions: Tunnel blasted into rising topography. Unheated instrument room 50 meters back from tunnel opening and 20 meters to the side. Concrete pier poured directly onto bedrock.
Site Description: The station is located within the West Quebec seismic zone, where there were approximately 70 seismic events (MN 1.1 - 4.1) in 1993.
